Mumbai : Indian indices opened lower on July 12 with Nifty around 16100 amid weak global cues. At 09:16 IST, the 30-share based Sensex was down 304.32 points or 0.56% at 54090.91, and the broad based Nifty was down 101 points or 0.62% at 16115. About 715 shares have advanced, 861 shares declined, and 113 shares are unchanged.
Meanwhile, Indian rupee opened at fresh record low at 79.49 per dollar on against previous close of 79.43.
