1st Phase Voting underway in Odisha : 9.6% polling till 9 am

Bhubaneswar: Amid tight security arrangements, the first phase of polling in Odisha is underway. The Polling began at 7 am on Monday for four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats in Odisha. Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur and Koraput are the four Lok Sabha seats going to polls today.

According to reports, 9.25 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 9 pm. Of these, 9.6 per cent polling was recorded in Kalahandi, 13.14 per cent in Koraput, 6.81 per cent in Ganjam and 10.20 per cent in Gajapati, 9.15 per cent in Malkangiri, 8.87 per cent in Nabarangpur, 9.5 per cent in Mohana and 11 per cent in Paralakhemundi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called upon voters in Odisha to exercise their franchise. “Assembly Elections commence in Odisha today. I call upon the people of this state to cast their franchise in large numbers. Your vote is your voice—let it be heard loudly and clearly,” he posted on X.
