Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will resign from his post on Monday. He is expected to go to Raj Bhavan at 11.35 am and submit his resignation letter to Governor Raghubar Das. With this, the Naveen era in Odisha has come to an end and the BJP era has begun. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik himself lost in Kantabanji and won hinjili by a narrow margin. It was a mandate not only against the BJD, but against Naveen.

On the other hand, the BJP is likely to form the government on May 10. The Prime Minister has already announced that a BJP Chief Minister will be sworn in on June 10. Therefore, the BJP chief minister will be sworn in on this date itself. The BJP won 78 seats, the BJD 51 and the Congress 14. Others have won 4 seats.
