BJP likely to announce candidates for 40-50 assembly seats today

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Odisha on Friday. According to sources, the BJP is likely to announce candidates for 40 to 50 assembly seats today. The bjp’s core committee met in New Delhi on Thursday to finalise the list of candidates. The list of probables has already been approved by the BJP’s central election committee. Bjp president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, state president Manmohan Samal, election in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar and vice-president Baijayant Panda were among those who attended the meeting.

Last week, the BJP had announced candidates for 18 of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha. The party is yet to announce its candidates for cuttack, Jajpur and Kandhamal Lok Sabha seats.
