Hinjli: Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday vowed to make Odisha the number one state of the country by 2036 coinciding with the 100th year of its formation. He said this while formally kicking off the poll campaign from his home constituency Hinjili in Ganjam district.

Centering on the 5T transformation, empowerment of women, allocation for youth initiatives, and fostering skill development, Naveen appealed for votes for the ‘Jodi Sankha’ (both Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha candidates), a term coined in response to the BJP’s ‘double engine’ government slogan, highlighting his administration’s accomplishments. He reiterated the assurance of 5T transformation to the electorate.

The BJD leader also criticized the opposition parties for hindering various progressive endeavors. “The Opposition is politicizing every positive step taken by the state government. The people of Odisha recognize their opportunistic politics and will rebuke them in the upcoming elections. They must remember that opposing developmental efforts has never led to success,” he emphasized.

Listing out achievements of the BJD government, including beautification and development of different temples under Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa, Samalei and Ekamra projects, he said that the 4.5 crore people Odisha are a family to him. “I have been working for the people of the state and will continue to serve them. Hinjli constituency is a model for the country to emulate. The temple development work was initiated with Tara Tarini shrine in the district,” he said.
