Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ( CBITC) under the Finance Ministry has decided to extend the deadline for filing of GST returns for the month of April to June 20 for the Cyclone Fani affected 14 districts of Odisha. CBITC has taken the decision on the recommendations of the GST council, a 11th May notification of the CBITC said.
Earlier, the Odisha government has urged the Finance Ministry for the extension of deadline. The decision is expected to benefit Thousands of Micro, Small and Medium business units in the cyclone affected districts like Puri, Khurdha, Cuttack,Angul,Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Kenonjhar, Bhadrak, Balasore ,Jagatsinghpur.
