BJD Lok Sabha Candidate list : 4 repeated, 11 new face who didn’t fight in 2019

Bhubaneswar : BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced  the second list of 27 candidates for the Assembly polls via a video message, along with the third list of candidates for five Lok Sabha seats.

The party, under Naveen Patnaik’s leadership, has reaffirmed the candidature of several incumbent legislators. Dipali Das, who secured victory in the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency by-election following the tragic demise of her father and former Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, has been nominated again for the same seat.

Likewise, Alaka Mohanty, the current MLA from Brajarajnagar who emerged victorious in the by-election after her husband Kishore Mohanty’s passing in 2022, has been endorsed by the party for the same Assembly constituency.

While seven sitting MLAs, including Pratap Jena and Parsuram Dhada, have been denied BJD tickets for the forthcoming polls, the party’s latest list, unveiled on Wednesday, notably features several women candidates.

The party Has Repeated 4 Sitting MPs Out of 20 Lok Sabha Candidates Announced So Far. These candidates are Dr. Achuyta Samanta, Sarmistha Sethi Rajashree Mallick Manjulata Mandal.

Meanwhile, the party has fielded 11 candidates who did not contest in 2019 lok sabha polls. They are-Pranab Prakash Das Lambodhar Nial, Sudam Marandi, Anshuman Mohanty, Manmath Routray, Ranjita Sahu, Abinash Samal, Santrupt Misra, Surendra Singh Bhoi, Parinita Mishra , Dhananjay Sidhu.

4 of the candidates fought in the 2019 lok sabha polls, but were defeated- Arup Patnaik Kaushalya Hikaka Bhrugu Buxipatra Pradeep Majhi.
