As India faces Oxygen crunch, Odisha supplies 983 MT Oxygen to states

Bhubaneswar: While several states in the country are struggling with acute shortage of medical Oxygen, Odisha is busy in supplying the life saving gas to the needy states.

In the last 4 days Odisha has sent 53 tankers carrying over 983 MT of medical oxygen to states like Maharastra, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

In the last 4 days, 8 tankers/containers carrying about 131.23 MT medical oxygen have been escorted by Odisha Police to Madhya Pradesh. Similalry, 6 tankers/containers carrying about 102.06 MT medical oxygen supplied to Maharashtra in last 4 days from Odisha, under Odisha Police escort.

Meanwhile, 17 tankers carrying about 291.769 MT medical oxygen supplied to Telangana, while, 22 tankers/containers carrying about 458.3 MT medical oxygen have been escorted by Odisha Police to Andhrapradesh from Odisha.

The Odisha government has established a special control room to supply medical oxygen to other states. The Odisha Police has also established a dedicated corridor for safe movement of oxygen tankers.

Earlier, Odisha government had also supplied medical Oxygen tankers to Delhi, one of the worst COVID-19 hit states of India.
