With 3.2 lakh cases, India now the 4th Worst affected country in the World

Bhubaneswar: India reported nearly 12 thousand new cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 3.2 lakh including 9195 deaths. This is the highest ever addition of confirmed cases in a single day.

With this India has climbed to the 4th spot in the list of world’s worst COVID-19 affected countries preceded by USA, Brazil and Russia. The USA has remained the worst affected country with more than 2 million cases.

As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India’s total cases rose to 320922 by Sunday morning. The total number includes 149348 active cases and 9195 deaths while 162379 people have been recovered from the viral infection.

With record 8049 recoveries India’s recovery rate has crossed the 50 per cent mark while 311 patients died in the last 24 hours and the death rate has remained unchanged at 2.8 per cent.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,51,432 samples were tested in the last 24 hours out of which nearly 12 thousand samples were found to be positive. With this, the country has tested total 56,58,614 samples till 14th of June with a positivity rate of 5.67 per cent, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
