Vajpayee Funeral Live: People paying last respect to the former PM at BJP Office
New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s mortal remains have been kept at the BJP headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg. People from all sections of the society including political leaders are currently paying their last respect to the departed soul. Meanwhile, thousands of people have gathered outside the BJP office to catch the last glimpse of Vajpayee, 93, who breathed his last on Thursday at 5:05 pm at AIIMS. Yesterday night and early in the morning several opposition leaders paid last respect to the former Prime Minister at his residence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, CMs of BJP-ruled states, Union Ministers and several top leaders are present at the BJP head office. As per the schedule, the final journey of Vajpayee will begin at 1 pm from the party office and reach the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal near Vijay Ghat along the Yamuna River around 4 pm. About 5 lakh people are expected to attend the funeral procession. According to a tweet by the BJP, Vajpayee’s mortal remains will be consigned to the flames at 4:30 pm.
