“We’re very excited to be in India, We’re on the way and will meet everyone” he Twitted in Hindi.

Trump, who is also accompanied by daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration, will get a taste of India’s rich cultural heritage during his Gujarat visit. He’ll also visit Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram where he’ll be presented with an Autobiography of Gandhi “My experiments with Truth”. After his Gujarat visit, he’ll go to Agra to have a glimpse of the Tajmahal along with his wife Melania Trump. He is scheduled to return to New Delhi in the evening.

Meanwhile, The New York Times has published an interesting peace of article on Trump’s India visit. The article titled “For a President Who Loves Crowd Size, India Aims to Deliver”, says, world leaders, from the British Queen to the Japanese Emperor, are facing challenges while hosting Donald Trump, a president who relishes spectacle and cherishes anything that is the first, the most or the biggest.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India opted to appeal to Mr. Trump’s first love — crowd size — as he stages a rally of more than 100,000 people in Ahmadabad on Monday after a drive in from the airport along roads where perhaps 100,000 more will line the motorcade route” the NYT report said.

World leaders understand that Trumps foreign trips are more about the image he wants to strike, rather than any substantial breakthrough, said R. Nicholas Burns, a former under-secretary of state in the George W. Bush’s administration.
