Sensex plunges 1000 points, Nifty below 11,350 point as Corona fear grips world economy

Mumbai: Indian stock markets continued to fall for the 6th consecutive day  as the fear of Coronavirus grips world economy. The BSE Sensex on Friday opened with a drop of about 1000 points and the NSE Nifty has opened below 11,400 points.

At 9.30 hrs the Sensex is down by 983.38 points or 2.47% at 38,762.28 points. Similarly, Nifty is down by 295.15 points or 2.54% at 11,340.10 points.

Among the top losers in the BSE are Tata Steel (down to 9.79%), Adani Gas (down by 9.61%), JK Tyres (down by 6.81%). Similarly, the top gainers are DHFL (a gain of 5%), NLC India ( a gain of 1%) and BASF.
