Mumbai : Indian benchmark indices opened at fresh record highs on December 28 with Nifty above 21,700.
At 9.17 am The 30 share based Sensex was up 221.00 points or 0.31 percent at 72,259.43, and the Nifty was up 64.40 points or 0.30 percent at 21,719.20. About 1823 shares advanced, 468 shares declined, and 88 shares unchanged.
By 9.45 am, the Sensex further soared to 72,351 points, a rise of 312 points, while the Nifty rose to 21,724.05 points, a rise of 69.30 points.
NTPC, JSW Steel, BPCL, Bajajfinsv,Tata Steel and SBI Life Insurance were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Eicher Motors, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Auto, TechMahindra, Infosys and Britannia Industries.
