PM Modi launches 5G services in India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the much awaited 5G telephony services, ushering in an era of ultra high-speed internet on mobile phones in India. The

5G services has been launched by the Prime Minister in select cities including President Draupadi Murmu’s native village Paharpur in Odisha’s Sundargarh district

The ultra high speed Telecom service will progressively cover the entire country over the next couple of years.

The fifth generation, or 5G, service, which can handle ultra-high-speed internet, is expected to unleash new economic prospects and societal advantages, acting as a transformative force for Indian society. For the Prime Minister to see the potential of 5G technology in India, the three main telecom providers in the nation—Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone—will each present one use case.

New Delhi : Reliance Jio will rollout 5G services throughout the country by  Dec 2023.

“Today I want to reiterate Jio’s commitment to lauch 5G services in every town, every Taluka and every Tahsils of  our districts by December 2023” said Mukesh Ambani, chairman, Reliance Industries at the Indian Mobile Congress 2022. “ Most of Jio’s 5G technologies are developed in India and hence carries the stamp of Atmanirbhar Bharat” he added.

He also congratulated Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishanv for strengthening state owned telecom operator BSNL. Batting for a strong BSNL he said, “ A strong BSNL will bring the balancing presence of our government entity in this stratergic sector”
