India’s COVID-19 tally nears 60 thousand mark, One out of every 3 patients is recovering

New Delhi: India’s total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 59662 as the country entered the 46th day of the lockdown on Saturday.

As per the latest figures released by the Health Ministry, the total number of cases rose to 59662 which include 39834 active cases and 1981 deaths while as many as 17846 patients have been recovered so far.

While the doubling rate or the duration when the number of cases doubles, has reduced to 10 days from 11 days a few days ago, the death rate has remained stable at 3.3% for quite some time. Meanwhile, the bright side is the country’s recovery rate has increased to 29.9% which is just few steps behind the world rate which is currently as 34%.  This means that one out of every three patients in India is recovering.
