India’s COVID-19 tally nears 3 lakh, 396 deaths since yesterday

Bhubaneswar: India’s total cases near 3 lakh-mark on Friday as the country added nearly 10 thousand new cases in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India’s total cases rose to 297535 by Friday morning. The total number includes 141842 active cases and 8498 deaths while 147195 people have been recovered from the viral infection.

With record 6167 recoveries India’s recovery rate has improved to 49.5 per cent while 396 patients died in the last 24 hours but the death rate has remained unchanged at 2.8 per cent.

Meanwhile, nearly 1.5 lakh samples were tested in the last 24 hours out of which nearly 10 thousand samples were found to be positive. With this, the country has tested total 53,13,445 samples till 12th of June with a positivity rate of 5.59 per cent, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

Maharastra tally nears 1 lakh

Maharastra has remained the worst affected state in the country as its total number of confirmed cases has inched closer to the 1 lakh mark including 47980 active cases and 3590 deaths. Maharastra is followed by Tamilnadu and Delhi with 38716 and 34687 confirmed cases.
