India sees another record spike of 3.6 lakh cases; Death Toll crosses 2 lakh mark

New Delhi: After witnessing slight drop on Monday, India has reported yet another record spike of 3.6 lakh cases and 3293 deaths on Tuesday.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 3,60,960 new cases taking the tally to 1,79,97,267. India’s COVID-19 death toll has also crossed the 2 lakh mark after addition of 3293 deaths.

Meanwhile, as many as 2,61,162 people have recovered from the infection yesterday taking total number of recoveries to 1.48 crore. Total active cases now stands at 29,78,709.

Total 25.56 lakh people were vaccinated on Tuesday, significantly lesser than the average daily vaccination of 30 lakh people recorded in the last several weeks. With this India’s total number of vaccination has increased to 14.78 crore.

Registration will open for people of 18 years of age on cowin.gov.in, Aarogya Sethu & Umang App at 4pm onwards today. However, Appointments at State Govt centers & private centers will depend on how many vaccination centers ready on 1st May.
