India reports 39,000 new cases, 542 deaths in 24-hours, daily positivity rate slip below 2%

New Delhi: The devastating second wave of the Covid-19 in India is continued to recede as the country reported nearly 39 thousand cases and 542 deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry the country has reported 38,949 fresh cases and 542 deaths in the last 24-hours. With this India’s covid-19 tally and death toll have risen to 3.10 crore and 4.12 lakh respectively. The country’s active cases have come down to 430,422 which is 1.39 percent of total cases.

Meanwhile, 40,026 infected people have recovered from the infection during the period and the recovery rate further improved to 97.28 percent.

India’s weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.14%, while daily positivity rate at 1.99%, less than 3% for the last 25 consecutive days.
