Islamabad: Cricket star-turned-politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is reportedly running ahead in the Pakistan National Assembly Polls. As per the latest reports PTI candidates are leading in 84 seats.  Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N is  2nd  place which is leading in 58 seats and Bilawal Bhutto’s PPP on the 3rd place with lead in 29 seats. Other candidates are leading in 62 seats.

Analysts said the vote was too close to call as polls closed at 6:00 pm (1300 GMT), despite widespread allegations of pre-poll meddling in favour of Khan, which saw the process dubbed Pakistan’s “dirtiest election”.

Gallup Pakistan estimated turnout at between 50 to 55% in an electorate of nearly 106 million, similar to the previous contest in 2013.
