Bengaluru : With suspense over new Karnataka Chief Minister continues, the Congress high command is likely to offer a split formula to senior leaders Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar, sources said on Wednesday.

The party is likely to split the tenure of the Chief Minister between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, who are both strong contenders for the top post.

The Congress leadership has reportedly offered Shivakumar the CM post for three years if he is ready to let Siddaramaiah preside over the top post for the first two years.

The Congress leadership will be holding another round of talks on Wednesday to take a final call on the Karnataka CM post.

Karnataka’s two chief ministerial aspirants Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar held separate meetings with Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.
