NewDelhi : Ahead of the Budget presentation in the Loksabha, the union cabinet has approved the Union Budget. After the cabinet approval the budget copies re being brought to the House. The Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman will table the Union Budget at 11 am today in the Lok Sabha. This is the 2nd Budget of Sitharaman. Last July she tabled her 1st Union Budget.
Markets recover after weak opening
Mumbai: Stock markets opened weak on the special session on Saturday ahead of the Budget, with both Sensex and Nifty fall by 0.48% each. On BSE, Sensex was down over 150 points while Nifty was near 11,900. However, both the indices managed to recover later.
The Sensex is currently (10.30 am) trading at 40,774.87, a rise of +51.38 (+0.13%). Similarly Nifty is trading at 11,972.75, a rise of 10.65 (+0.09%).
Though the Stock Markets generally remain closed on Saturdays, except special occasions like Diwali. But due to the Union Budget, the Stock markets are open today.
