Mumbai: The BJP’s win in three Hindi-heartland states have has a positive effect on the stock market as indices touch a fresh record high in the opening session on Monday.
At 9.40 am : The Sensex was at 68,496.45, a gain of 1015.26 or 1.50%, Nifty at 20,572.30 points, a gain of 304.40 or 1.5%.
The benchmark indices opened at fresh record high on December 4 with Nifty around 20,550. The Sensex was up 882.38 points or 1.31 percent at 68,363.57, and the Nifty was up 276.40 points or 1.36 percent at 20,544.30. About 2194 shares advanced, 259 shares declined, and 119 shares unchanged. Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, NTPC, SBI and L&T were among major gainers on the Nifty.
