Biznextindia : In an encouraging start to the year with several crucial Assembly elections, BJP has scored perfect three in the three North-eastern states-Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. While BJP has won comfortable majority in Tripura and Nagaland, in Meghalaya it has returned to its old ally- Conrad Sangma-led NPP.

Sangma is scheduled to conduct a press conference at 11 am, following which the NPP is expected to proceed to the Governor House to assert its claim to form a government. The party is joining hands with the BJP to establish the government.

This victory will be a big boost to the BJP before other state elections scheduled to held this year and the 2024 general elections. BJP’s south-India bastion Karnataka will go to polls in the summer followed by elections three Hindi-speaking crucial states- Rajastan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh in the second half of the year. South state Telengana and North-eastern state Mizoram will also go to polls by the end of the year. There is a possibility of elections in Jammu & Kashmir also.
