Odisha received USD 30 ml FDI between Oct19-Nov20, 86% came to Metallurgical sector

Bhubaneswar: Metallurgical industry acquired the biggest chunk of the USD 29.63 million Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Odisha has attracted between October 2019 and November 2020.

This was stated by Union Finance Minister Anurag Thakur in response to a question from Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahu.

According to the finance ministry data, between October 2019 and November 2020, Odisha has received about USD 29.63 million FDI out of which USD 25.57  million or 86 per cent came to the Metallurgical industries. While the service sector has received USD 1.86 million FDI, vegetable oil sector has received FDI worth USD 1.97 million and power sector has received USD  0.88 million FDI.

Of the neighbouring states of Odisha, West Bengal received FDI worth USD 581 million, while Andhra Pradesh received FDI worth USD 265 million during the same period.
