Bhubaneswar: JSW Steel Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan jindal on Thursday visited the company’s newly acquired iron ore mines in Odisha where he took stock of the mining operations.

During his visit he also took some time out to try his hand with the heavy mining vehicles inside the mines.

“Experienced the thrill of driving a 100 tonner at our mines in Odisha yesterday. Great Fun!” he has twitted while sharing a video of his adventurous driving inside an Iron Ore mine.

JSW has bagged 4 Iron Ore mines -Nuagaon, Narayanposhi, Jajang and Gonua during the auction conducted by the Odisha government in February. Among the four mines, Nuagaon is the biggest mine with estimated Iron Ore reserve of 790 million tonnes.

These Iron Ore blocks will provide adequate iron ore supply to 12 MTPA project planned at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, the same site South Korean Steel major POSCO had abandoned few years back.
