Honda launches Hornet 2.0 at Rs. 1.26 lakh

Bhubaneswar: While, the entire automobile industry is struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, Honda 2-Wheelers sees a silver lining. The company is expecting a rise in two-wheeler demand in the short to medium term as people are now opting for the personal mode of transport.

“COVID-19 has impacted the global auto industry including the supply chain. After the opening of the lockdown there has been a gradual revival of the demand. Many people who were depending upon public transport are now opting for personal vehicles, especially bikes” said Yadvinder Singh Guleria,director, sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI).

Speaking to the media during the launch of Honda’s new bike Hornet 2.0, he said that the company is banking on expansion in exclusive channels for its premium bike business to tide over the bleak demand prospects wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The BS-6 compliant Honda Hornet 2.0 will hit the market in the first week of September and is priced at Rs. 1,26,345 (ex Show-room price, Gurgaon). The bike will also be available on the online platform apart from the offline showrooms.
