Maruti Suzuki December sales slip 9% on shortage of electronic components

New Delhi : Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest seller of passenger vehicles has reported 9 percent drop in December sales at 139,347 units, as against 153,149 units in December 2021.

Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 113,535 units, sales to other OEM of 4,016 units and exports of 21,796 units.

During the April-December period, the company has reported a total sales of 1,451,237 units, which include domestic sales of 1,205,899 units, sales to other OEM of 50,724 units and exports of 194,614 units.

“The shortage of electronic components had some impact on the production of vehicles, mainly in domestic models. The Company took all possible measures to minimise the impact” the company said.
