Meeting of RBI Monetary Policy Committee begins, To announce policy rate on Thursday

Biznextindia: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will announce its 5^th bi-monthly Policy statement on 5^th of December, the last day of the 3day meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).

“The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet from December 3 to 5, 2019 for the Fifth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2019-20. The resolution of the MPC will be placed on the website at 11.45 AM on December 5, 2019” RBI said in a statement.

According to several analysts, the RBI is likely to cut the Repo Rate for the 6^th straight time despite a rise in inflation. According to a survey by LiveMint the central bank may go for another 25 bps rate cut. In October, RBI had reduced Repo rate by 25 basis points.
