Markets open higher after Tuesday’s bloodbath

Mumbai : After Tuesday’s bloodbath, the Indian indices opened higher on June 5 with Nifty around 21,100.

The 30 shared based Sensex was up 670.21 points or 0.93 percent at 72,749.26, and the 50 share based Nifty was up 209.00 points or 0.96 percent at 22,093.50. About 1714 shares advanced, 678 shares declined, and 95 shares unchanged.

ONGC, M&M, BPCL, HUL, Tata Steel were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Hindalco, L&T, Power Grid Corp, Axis Bank and Apollo Hospitals.
