Jio adds 1.47 lakh new subscribers in Odisha in May: TRAI Data

Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio added highest number of new mobile subscribers in the state in May 2021 while competitors like Airtel and Vodafone Idea lost thousands of subscribers during the same period, revealed the latest telecom subscriber data released by TRAI.

As per latest the telecom subscriber data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for the month of May 2021, Reliance Jio added highest 1,47,535 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha, taking its total subscriber base in Odisha to over 1.47 crore.  Apart from Jio, BSNL was the only other operator to add subscribers in the month as it added just 17738 subscribers. During the same period Airtel lost over 1.46 lakh subscribers followed by Vodafone Idea which lost over 61086 subscribers in the state, revealed the subscriber data released by TRAI. The overall mobile subscriber base in Odisha decreased by 42334 in May 2021.

Nationally, Jio also dominated subscriber addition in May 2021 as it was the only service provider to have added new subscribers while others lost millions of them. As per the subscriber data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio added over 35.54 lakh subscribers pan India in the month of May 2021. During the same period, Airtel lost the highest 46.13 lakh mobile subscribers followed by Vodafone Idea which lost over 42.8 lakh subscribers in the month.
