Mumbai : Amid the ongoing standoff between Air India Express and a section of its cabin crew that led to the cancellation of nearly 100 flights on May 8,  Air India Express has terminated the contracts of some senior cabin crew members. According to few media reports the company has issued termination letter to as many as 30 staffs.

Explaining the rationale behind this action, the airline cited the behavior of these individuals as a “pre-meditated and concerted abstention from work without any justifiable reason.”

In a termination letter addressed to one of the employees, the airline highlighted that a significant number of cabin crew members reported illness at the last minute. “This clearly indicates a deliberate and coordinated refusal to work without any valid justification,” the letter stated.
