New Delhi: India’s daily Covid-19 cases jumped to 2.58 lakh in the last 24-hours amid sharp 120% rise in the daily positivity rate.
According to the data released by the Health Ministry, the country has reported 2,58,089 fresh cases and 385 deaths in the last 24-hours. The total cases include 8209 Omicron cases. With this, India’s total active cases rose to 16,56,341.
As many as 151740 infected people have recovered from the infection during the period.
Meanwhile, the Central government has told the Supreme Court that COVID-19 inoculation guidelines issued by the Union health ministry do not envisage forcible vaccination without obtaining the consent of an individual.
