Odisha : 79 more persons test positive, Tally crosses 1500-mark

Bhubaneswar: With 79 more persons tested positive with COVID-19, Odisha’s total number of confirmed cases crossed the 1500-mark on Tuesday.

According to the information released by the Health and Family welfare department, Odisha’s COVID-19 tally rose to 1517 on Tuesday which includes 861 active cases and 7 deaths, while 649 persons have recovered and have already been discharged from the hospitals.

Out of the 79 fresh cases, highest 16 cases have been reported from Cuttack followed by Bolangir with 14 cases. Meanwhile, Sonepur district has reported its maiden COVID-19 case today.

While Odisha had reported its first case on 15th March, it crossed the 1500-mark after 72 days. The state reported its 100th case on 25th April, 500th case on 12th May, 1000th case on 19th May and 1500th case on 26th May.
