India : Recovery rate rises to 31% from 8% a month ago, Death rate stable

Bhubaneswar: India registers marginal decline in death rate even as the total number of fatalities rose to 2206 on Monday. However, the recovery rate has improved to 31% from only 8% a month ago.

In the last 24 hours India has reported 97 deaths as against 128 deaths in the previous 24-hour period. If we put this in percentage terms, India’s death rate declined marginally to 3.2% from 3.3 a day ago.

As per the latest data released by the Health Ministry, India’s total number of cases has surged to 67152 as on Monday morning. Out of this, 44029 are active cases while 2206 people have died and 20916 persons have cured and discharged from the hospitals.

While the death rate has remained stable since the beginning of the month, the recovery rate is on a progressive path. With 1559 patients cured in the last 24 hours, India’s recovery rate has risen further to 31.14%.

Exactly a month ago, India’s death rate was 3.2% while the recovery rate was only 8.2%.
