Mumbai : Indian indices opened on a positive note on March 21 with Nifty above 17,000. At 09:16 hrs IST, the BSE Sensex was up 242.82 points or 0.42% at 57,871.77, and the NSE Nifty was up 69.40 points or 0.41% at 17,057.80. About 1330 shares advanced, 454 shares declined, and 79 shares unchanged.
Nestle India, Adani Enterprises, Reliance Industries, SBI Life Insurance and Larsen and Toubro were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were ITC, JSW Steel, Power Grid Corporation, Cipla and Sun Pharma.
