Mumbai: The Indian indices commenced on a positive note on March 1, with the Nifty hovering around 17,350.
As of 09:16 hrs IST, the Sensex climbed 230.41 points or 0.39% to reach 59,192.53, while the Nifty advanced by 68.80 points or 0.40% to reach 17,372.80. Of the 1955 shares traded, 1217 shares gained, 634 shares declined, and 104 remained unchanged.
Adani Enterprises, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, and M&M were among the major gainers on the Nifty. On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals, Britannia, HDFC Life, Tata Consumer, and SBI Life Insurance were among the losers.
