Mumbai : Indian indices opened the week on a negative note on December 20 amid weak global cues. At 09:16 IST, the BSE Sensex was down 664.78 points or 1.17% at 56346.96, and the Nifty was down 189.50 points or 1.12% at 16795.70. About 724 shares have advanced, 1331 shares declined, and 103 shares are unchanged.
Cipla, Wipro, TCS and Power Grid Corp were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Tata Motors, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Grasim, BPCL, Bajaj Finserv and SBI.
