Mumbai : Indian indices opened on positive on May 23 with Nifty above 16300. At 09:16 IST, the BSE Sensex was up 288.99 points or 0.53% at 54615.38, and the Nifty was up 77.80 points or 0.48% at 16344. About 1563 shares have advanced, 531 shares declined, and 98 shares are unchanged.
Top gainers are Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Hero Motocorp, NTPC, while, the top losers are JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Hindalco and ITC. Meanwhile, Indian rupee opened at 77.68 per dollar on Monday versus Friday’s close of 77.54.
