Indian Indices open weak as Ukraine war continues

Mumbai: Amid Russia-Ukraine conflict Indian indices opened the week on a weak note on February 28 with Nifty below 16,500.

At 09:16 IST, the BSE Sensex was down 732.90 points or 1.31% at 55125.62, and the Nifty was down 211 points or 1.27% at 16447.40. About 626 shares have advanced, 1462 shares declined, and 142 shares are unchanged.

Among the top gainers are Tata Steel, Hindalco, Powergrid, BPCL and JSW Steel, while the top losers are SBILIFE, HDFCLIFE,BHARTI AIRTEL and ASIANPAINT.
