Mumbai : Ahead of US Fed meet, Indian indices opened on strong note December 16 with Nifty above 17300.
At 09:16 IST, the Sensex was up 467.34 points or 0.81% at 58255.37, and the Nifty was up 134.10 points or 0.78% at 17355.50. About 1632 shares have advanced, 268 shares declined, and 44 shares are unchanged.
Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv, Wipro, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Sun Pharma, HUL, Nestle India, HUL, Grasim Industries and Hero MotoCorp.
