Indian Indices open lower on weak global cues

Mumbai : Indian indices opened on negative note on Tuesday (December 14) dragged by weak global markets.

The BSE Sensex was down 382.96 points or 0.66% at 57900.46, and the Nifty was down 109.60 points or 0.63% at 17258.70. About 899 shares have advanced, 1052 shares declined, and 74 shares are unchanged.

ITC, Cipla, Dr.Reddy’s, HDFC Life, Hindalco, SBI Life Insurance and Power Grid Corp were among major gainers on the Nifty, while Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Infosys, Hero Motocorp, HDFC and Shree Cements were some of the losers.
