Bhubaneswar: With six fresh cases Odisha’s total cases surged to 169 as on Monday evening. The six new cases include two from Bhadrak and four from Jajpur district.
According to the Information & Public Relations Department, the two positive cases in Bhadrak are 45-year-old male and a 55-year-old male. Four positive cases in Jajpur are 48-year-old male, 55-year-old male, a 60-year-old male and a 62-year-old male. All are Kolkata returnees and were in quarantine.

With this, the total number of positive cases in Jajpur stands at 52 with 51 active cases. Similarly, the number increased to 21 with 9 active cases in Bhadrak. Earlier in the day, one positive case was detected from Sundargarh district.
Out of the 169 cases in the state, 108 are active cases, 60 people have recovered while one person has died. Odisha’s recovery rate is 35.5% against the national rate of 27.5%.
