Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Friday reported 173 new cases, the highest spike in cases in a single day, taking the total cases to 2781 including 1167 active cases and 8 deaths.
Out of the 173 persons who have tested positive, 150 are in quarantine centres while 23 are local cases. Ganjam district, which has witnessed the maximum number of migrant returns, has reported 64 cases since yesterday.
Meanwhile, with significant rise in recovery cases, the state’s total number of recovery cases has outnumbered the number of active cases. While Odisha has currently 1167 active cases, the number of recoveries has risen to 1604.
