#COVID-19 : Odisha registers biggest single-day surge of 1267 cases

Bhubaneswar: With record single-day surge of 1264 positive cases, Odisha’s COVID-19 tally has crossed the 21000-mark on Thursday. This is the second day in a row the state has reported more than 1000 cases.

According the latest data released by the Odisha Information and Public Relations department, out of the 1264 new cases, 847 are from quarantine centres while 417 are local contacts.

Ganjam has remained a concern for the government as the south Odisha district has reported record 540 new cases on 22nd July taking total cases in the district to 6902.

 

The Khurda district has reported 137 new cases followed by Rayagada with 84 new cases.

With 1264 new cases Odisha’a count has increased to 21099 including 7204 active cases and 114 deaths. However, the silver lining is as many as 13750 patients have been cured of the infection so far indicating a recovery rate of 65 per cent.
