Odisha Govt approves investment proposals worth Rs.1197 Cr, To create 5152 jobs

Bhubaneswar : Odisha’s State Level Single Window Clearance Authority today approved 8 investment proposals of worth Rs.1197.41 Crore. The proposals were approved during the SLSWCA meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi  in the State Secretariat.

While giving nod to the project proposals, Chief Secretary Mr.Padhi directed concerned departments to provide proactive facilitation to the approved units for their early grounding. Development Commissioner Asit Kumar Tripathy, Additional Chief Secretary Forest & Environment, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise L.N. Gupta, Principal Secretary Industry Sanjeev Chopra along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and senior officers of concerned departments participated in evaluation of the project proposals. The proposals approved in the meeting were from various sectors like downstream in steel and aluminium, food processing, apparel manufacturing, hospitality, iron & steel, plastic pipes and fittings. In total these projects will create employment opportunities for 5,162 persons.

The major approved projects included proposal of Aditya Birla Fashion Retail for setting up an apparel manufacturing unit at Tikri in Rayagada district with investment of Rs.114 Crore. The mega textiles project is first of its kind in Rayagada district with the potential of creating employment opportunities for 2750 people. More number of women will have employment in this unit.  Gemini Edibles and Fats India (makers of FREEDOM brand of oil) to set up a refined vegetable oil manufacturing unit of 396 KTPA capacity at Tata Steel Industrial Park in the district of Ganjam with   investment of Rs. 300 crore and employment potential of 525 received clearance.

GMLR Techno Industries to set up a manufacturing unit for production PVC water storage tanks at Industrial Estate Chhatabar in Khordha with investment of Rs. 61.50 crore and employment opportunity for 350 people was okeyed. Proposal of KURLON Company to set up a PU foam manufacturing unit at Khordha with a total investment of Rs. 65 crore received green signal. This unit will be the third unit of the company in Bhubaneswar. Other two units of KURLON are now operating Chandaka Industrial estate with 450 employees. The second unit at Anlapatna Industrial estate with employment potential of 500 persons is nearing its completion and is expected to start production within few months. The proposals of Swosti Group’s new resort project named Gopalpur Palm Resort at Udayapur in Ganjam district also received the nod of Single Window Authority.  The resort proposes to have 98 rooms, restaurants, spa & gym facilities, swimming pool, indoor games and a kids club. The project shall employ around 220 people. The proposal of Astral Polytechnik to set up a new plastic pipes & fittings manufacturing unit of capacity 35,000 MT with a total investment of Rs.109.81 crore at Ramdaspur in Cuttack was approved in the meeting. Two expansion projects in the sponge iron sector in Sundargarh district were also approved by the SLSWCA. Proposal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited envisaging investment of Rs. 1970.52 crore was recommended to HLCA for consideration.
