With nearly 25000 new cases, India’s Tally climbs to 6.73 lakh, Recovery rate nears 61%

Bhubaneswar: With record 24850 new cases in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 6.73 lakh on Sunday including more than 19000 deaths.

As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare, India’s total cases rose to 673165 by Sunday morning. The total number includes 244814 active cases and 19268 deaths while 409083 people have been recovered from the viral infection.

The country has reported 613 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death rate to 2.8 per cent.

Despite rising cases, the silver lining has been the recovery rate, as 14856 patients have cured since yesterday and the recovery rate has further improved to 60.77 per cent.

Maharastra has remained the worst affected state in the country as its total number of confirmed cases has crossed 2 lakh including 83311 active cases and 8671 deaths. Maharastra is followed by Tamilnadu and Delhi and Tamilnadu with 107001 and 97200 confirmed cases.
