Petrol, Diesel prices up 48p and 52-55p, Biggest hike in last 10 days

New Delhi: While a Bharat Bandh has been called by the Congress party,  fuel prices across India touched fresh highs on Friday as the petrol price was hiked by 48 paise and Diesel by 52 paise in Delhi.  With this hike, petrol is selling at Rs 79.99/litre, while diesel price has been revised to Rs 72.07/litre in the national capital. This is the biggest hike of the fuel in the last 10 days.  Considering the fuel prices vary from state to state depending on local sales tax or value added tax, Petrol prices rose by 48 paise and diesel price by 55 paise in Mumbai. After this hike, Petrol is selling at Rs 87.39/litre while the diesel is priced at Rs 76.51/litre in Mumbai, according to a price notification issued by Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL). In Bhubaneswar, petrol is selling at Rs.78.85 and Diesel at Rs.77.33.
