Petrol, Diesel prices hiked for 5th consecutive day

Bhubaneswar: Domestic Oil prices continued to surge for the 5th consecutive day as oil marketing companies on Thursday hiked Petrol and Diesel prices by almost 60 paisa each.

In the last five days, Petrol has become costlier by Rs.2.83 while Diesel has become costlier by Rs.2.74. On Wednesday, Petrol was hiked by 40 paise while Diesel price was increased by 45 paise.

After this hike, Petrol and Diesel prices in Delhi have increased to Rs. 74.00 and Rs.72.22 respectively. In Mumbai, Petrol and Diesel prices have increased to Rs.80.98 and 70.92 respectively. In Bhubaneswar also the fuel prices have gone up to Rs.74.50 and Rs.70.52 respectively.

Meanwhile, the prices have been increased across the country and vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT.

Oil Marketing companies like Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum review Petrol, Diesel, LPG, ATF prices regularly in tandem with the international crude oil prices. However, since March 16, prices were kept on hold keeping in view the volatility in the global Crude oil prices.
