‘New Delhi: The Union Home ministry on Thursday made it clear that there is no decision yet on running special train for stranded people like migrant labourers, students and tourists.
“As of now, the directives are to use buses,” said Punya Salila Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on if the centre is considering any proposal for running special trains to transport stranded labourers, students & tourists stranded to their home states.
Several states governments have demanded the centre for running special trains for transportation the stranded people.
The union home ministry on Wednesday had cleared inter-state movement of the stranded people to their home states. However, inter-state movements were allowed only on buses as there was no clear roadmap on restart train and airline services.
