Biznextindia : Your mobile call, data will cost more as major Telecom operators have announced hike in tariff. After Airtel, Vodafone-Idea another leading operator Reliance Jio has also announced hike in its telecom tariff.
Jio said that it’ll increase its tariff in the next few weeks in view of Telecom Regulator TRAI’s intent to initiate a consultation process for revision of Telecom tariffs.
“We understand that TRAI is likely to initiate a consultation process for revision of telecom tariffs. Like other operators, we will also work with the Government and comply with the regulatory regime to strengthen the industry to benefit Indian consumers and take measures including appropriate increase in tariffs in next few weeks in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments” Jio said in a regulatory filing.
Yesterday, both Vodafone-Idea and Airtel had announced that they would increase mobile tariff from December 1. However, Jio has not given any specific time limit for its tariff revision.
